Materials that complete the setting

Pool tile, vessel-edge coping and surrounding pavers selected together for your mountain property.

Discuss Your Project

Maximum Comfort Pool & Spa

Three surfaces. One considered palette.

Tile defines the waterline or interior. Coping finishes the edge of the vessel. Pavers shape the surrounding deck and walkways. Each serves a different purpose, but their colors, textures and proportions should work together.

MCPS uses NPT and Keystone selection resources to help compare materials. Samples, submerged-use requirements, slip resistance, drainage and freeze-thaw exposure matter as much as the photograph in a catalog.

Our approach

The detail is in the installation.

01

Pool tile

MCPS recommends 6×6-inch waterline tile. Its selection guide advises against outdoor glass and small-format tiles with many joints, and split-face or ledger tiles at the waterline. Confirm location and submerged-use suitability.

02

Coping

Coping caps the vessel edge and creates the transition from water to deck. Profile, edge treatment, joint layout and compatibility with a cover track are planned together.

03

Pavers

Deck materials need appropriate footing, drainage and support. Porcelain and natural stone options are reviewed against the site's exposure and maintenance needs.

04

Thinset & grout

The setting system must suit the tile, substrate and wet environment. Grout color can blend or emphasize the pattern; confirm the specified product and physical color sample with MCPS before approval.

Crossed-out catalog selections are not recommended by MCPS. A supplier listing is not approval for every application.
